Adult treatment will include individual and group therapies, in a safe and confidential environment, tailored to meet each individual’s need. When possible and relevant, treatment will include family involvement in order to educate families and facilitate the healing process. Treatment is delivered by a team of professionals representing many disciplines including certified addiction counselors, nurses, physicians, psychiatrists, art therapists, recreation therapists, and a wide array of specialists. · Women’s Treatment Women are offered a safe, confidential, therapeutic environment to explore recovery issues unique to addicted women. Treatment focuses on identifying obstacles to recovery, building coping strategies, and making emotional/behavioral changes to promote the healing process. Women involved in this program address recovery issues pertaining to depression, parenting, co-dependency, anger, anxiety, loss and trauma. · Dual Focus/MICA Treatment Individuals who have co-occurring mental health concerns and addiction are offered a safe, confidential, therapeutic environment to explore recovery issues unique to the problems associated with both chemical dependencyand mental illness. Specialized treatment can include psychiatric assessment, medication management and “psychiatric sensitive” group and individual counseling. · Nicotine Dependency Treatment GCASA has adopted the research-based philosophy that individuals do better with recovery from addiction when they give up their tobacco use simultaneously with their other mood altering drugs. While 23% of the general population smokes cigarettes, it is estimated that 75-85% of the chemical dependent population is addicted to nicotine products. Annual deaths associated with tobacco use is over 400,000 - which is why we’ve developed a program to help addicted individuals quit smoking while being treated for other chemical addiction. GCASA’s Nicotine Dependence Treatment Team has developed a four-stage program that includes: assessment, education, nicotine recovery and nicotine relapse prevention. Counselors use the stages of change model to assess and treat nicotine addiction individually at the different stages of readiness |
