At GCASA we realize that everyone comes to us with different circumstances. We take pride in providing individualized assessments that are tailored to meet each person’s individual needs. Some people secretly worry about their use, some have family or friends who have expressed concerns, some have had chemical related legal problems, and in many cases, people come to us feeling unsure if there is a substance abuse problem. Whatever your situation, the staff at GCASA are here to assist you through your struggles to find answers about your diagnosis and educate you as to your treatment options. An alcohol or drug use evaluation includes a face-to-face interview with a counselor. Prior to the interview an individual can expect to meet with a member of the support team to complete the paperwork portion of the evaluation. As part of the evaluation, the counselor will be requesting to speak to a significant other or family member to obtain some collateral information. Before or after your interview, a member of the medical staff will meet with you to briefly address any medical concerns. The evaluation process may sound intimidating, but remember this is what helps individuals make informed decisions about the next step in the process. |
